Chiropractic practices have changed dramatically over the past several years. Providers are no longer working exclusively from a desktop computer in a back office. Patient care moves from the front desk to the examination room, adjusting table, imaging review, billing department and back again—and the technology supporting the practice needs to move just as efficiently.

Quick Charts 4.0 is being developed with that environment in mind.

Currently in active engineering, clinical testing and pre-release development, Quick Charts 4.0 represents the next evolution of the Quick Charts platform. The development roadmap includes touch-first bedside charting, clinical AI tools, integrated imaging capabilities, smarter scheduling, faster front-desk workflows and an expanded electronic billing experience.

Just as importantly, Quick Charts 4.0 is being engineered around a principle that remains central to the platform: your practice should remain in control of its own data.

Quick Charts 4.0 is not yet deliverable or approved for commercial release. The technology preview provides an early look at the tools currently being developed and tested—and the direction Quick Charts is taking next. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

Modern Chiropractic Software Without Giving Up Control of Your Data

Moving to newer software has traditionally created a difficult decision for established healthcare practices.

Modern web applications make remote access, touchscreen interfaces and greater mobility possible. But moving to a fully vendor-hosted cloud environment can also mean transferring the practice database to infrastructure controlled by another company.

Quick Charts 4.0 is being engineered differently.

Rather than requiring an existing Quick Charts practice to migrate its data into an entirely new hosted database, the 4.0 architecture is designed to connect with the practice’s existing database while adding modern web and tablet interfaces.

That means the modernization of Quick Charts is being built around four core commitments: practice ownership of its data, modern access options, connection to the existing database without a required migration, and no mandatory hosting fee simply to use the new platform. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

For established practices, that distinction matters.

A software upgrade should not have to mean giving up control of years of patient information simply to gain access to modern technology.

The philosophy behind Quick Charts 4.0 can be summarized simply:

Modern access without surrendering control.

Bringing Chiropractic Charting to the Point of Care

One of the biggest changes being developed for Quick Charts 4.0 is the clinical experience itself.

Instead of treating the desktop workstation as the center of the clinical workflow, 4.0 is being engineered for tablets, touchscreens and bedside encounters.

The goal is to make clinical documentation available where patient care is actually taking place.

AI-Assisted Camera Range of Motion

Range-of-motion assessment can require the provider to move between examining the patient, taking measurements and entering the resulting information into the patient’s chart.

Quick Charts 4.0 is currently being engineered with an AI Camera Range of Motion tool designed to automate more of that process.

Using a tablet or webcam, the planned system is designed to measure spinal and extremity kinematics across nine anatomical regions. Hands-free auto-snap functionality is being developed to capture measurements without relying on manual goniometers or requiring the provider to repeatedly stop the examination for data entry. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

The potential benefit is not simply another measurement tool.

It is a more connected examination workflow in which assessment and documentation happen together.

DICOM X-Rays Inside the Clinical Encounter

Imaging is another area where Quick Charts 4.0 is being designed to reduce the number of separate systems a provider needs to move between.

An in-canvas DICOM X-ray lightbox is currently in active development. The planned interface will allow providers to review digital radiographs directly within the bedside encounter.

Development features include multi-touch pinch-to-zoom, window contrast presets for views such as Bone Sharpness and Soft Tissue, and calibrated millimeter calipers for measurements. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

Instead of treating imaging as something separate from the patient record, the goal is to bring the radiograph closer to the documentation and clinical decision workflow.

For providers using tablets in the treatment room, that creates the potential for a much more fluid encounter: review the image, examine the patient, document findings and continue care without repeatedly moving between unrelated interfaces.

3D Vertebral Spine Documentation

Quick Charts 4.0 is also being developed with an authentic 3D vertebral spine map.

The planned interface will allow providers to document subluxation listings, palpation findings and treatment techniques directly on a three-dimensional representation of the spine.

But the more important capability may be what happens over time.

The development roadmap calls for providers to be able to compare longitudinal visit history side by side, making it easier to review how documented findings and treatment information have changed across encounters. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

That turns the spine map from a visual documentation tool into a way of viewing the progression of care.

Touch-First Bedside Charting

Tablets only improve clinical workflow when the software running on them is actually designed for touch.

Quick Charts 4.0 is being engineered with a bedside virtual touch keyboard and navigation designed specifically for iPads and touchscreen devices.

Providers will be able to move between rooms, select commonly used clinical phrases with a tap and search for patients across multiple criteria without relying on a traditional desktop interface. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

The objective is straightforward:

The chart should go where the provider goes.

Rather than forcing the clinical workflow to revolve around a workstation, the workstation becomes part of the clinical workflow.

Smarter Scheduling and Better Coordination Across the Practice

The clinical encounter is only one part of a chiropractic practice.

Every visit begins before the provider sees the patient. Appointments have to be scheduled. Patients have to arrive and be checked in. Staff members need to know where patients are, which rooms are ready and whether something important needs attention.

Quick Charts 4.0 is being developed to connect more of those front-desk activities.

Smart Schedule Blocks and Templates

Not every appointment should compete for the same calendar space.

Quick Charts 4.0’s planned Smart Schedule Blocks and Templates are being engineered to reserve recurring areas of the schedule for specific appointment types, including new patients, re-examinations and therapies.

Color-coded calendar overlays and one-click booking are also part of the development roadmap. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

The value goes beyond making a schedule easier to read.

It gives the practice another way to intentionally structure its capacity.

Rather than simply filling the next available opening, the schedule can be organized around how the practice actually delivers care.

Quick Charts 4.0 is also being developed with an interactive booking modal.

The planned workflow allows staff to click directly on a calendar opening and access the appointment booking hub without navigating away from the schedule.

From there, the system is being designed to support live multi-word patient search, case assignment, copay information and visit history. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

Small reductions in clicks can become significant when a busy front desk repeats the same process dozens of times every day.

The goal is to make routine scheduling tasks faster without sacrificing the information staff members need to book correctly.

Universal Patient Alerts Across the Practice

Patient information is only useful when the right staff member sees it at the right time.

Quick Charts 4.0 is being engineered with clinic-wide patient alerts that synchronize across the Front Desk, Scheduling and EHR environments.

The planned system also introduces more control over when an alert appears. Staff will be able to schedule an alert to become visible at a future date or establish an automatic expiration so an outdated message does not remain attached to the patient indefinitely. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

This creates a shared layer of operational information across the practice instead of leaving important notes isolated inside a single part of the software.

Interoffice Staff Chat and Room Tracking

Communication between the front desk and treatment area can have a direct impact on patient flow.

Quick Charts 4.0 is being developed with a built-in staff chat drawer along with patient arrival indicators and room-readiness tracking.

The objective is to help front-desk and clinical team members coordinate in real time without relying on disconnected communication tools or repeatedly leaving their workstations to determine where a patient is in the visit process. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

When scheduling, patient status and clinical workflow are connected, the entire office can work from the same operational picture.

Moving From Fixing Claims to Preventing Billing Problems

The Quick Charts 4.0 roadmap extends beyond charting and scheduling.

A significant portion of development is focused on electronic eligibility, claim preparation and insurance management.

The broader goal is to identify potential billing problems earlier—before they become rejected or denied claims.

Real-Time Electronic Eligibility Verification

Quick Charts 4.0’s upcoming clearinghouse engine is being developed to support real-time 270/271 electronic eligibility verification.

Instead of waiting until after a visit to uncover a coverage issue, staff will be able to verify insurance information before the patient reaches the adjusting table.

The planned clearinghouse connection is designed to return information including remaining deductibles, copays and coinsurance in seconds. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

Earlier access to eligibility information gives both staff and patients greater visibility before services are provided.

Catch Claim Problems Before They Become Denials

One of the most important additions in the billing roadmap is a real-time pre-submission claim scrubber.

The planned validation system is being developed to identify potential issues such as missing diagnosis pointers, unbillable CPT codes and carrier-related errors before the claim is submitted.

When a problem is identified, one-click jump-to-fix navigation is designed to take the user directly to the area requiring correction. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

That changes the workflow from:

Submit → Reject → Investigate → Correct → Resubmit

toward something much more efficient:

Validate → Correct → Submit

Not every denial can be prevented by software, but identifying common submission problems before a claim leaves the practice can eliminate unnecessary rework.

A Modernized CMS-1500 Workstation

Experienced billers often know the CMS-1500 form extremely well.

Quick Charts 4.0 is not being designed to remove that familiarity. Instead, the planned interactive CMS-1500 workstation combines it with a more modern digital environment.

A dual-view mode is currently in engineering that will allow billers to work directly within the digital box form or view an authentic red-paper print preview.

The roadmap also includes millimeter alignment calibration for printing. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

The result is intended to provide a modern billing workflow without disconnecting experienced users from a form they already understand.

Better Management of Multiple Insurance Policies

Patients do not always have one active insurance policy.

Quick Charts 4.0’s enhanced insurance engine is being developed to manage Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Inactive coverage while synchronizing subscriber demographics and preserving historical policy information. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

That historical component is particularly important.

Coverage changes. Patients change carriers. Secondary insurance becomes primary. Old policies become inactive.

The patient’s record should reflect that history without forcing staff to sacrifice current information or lose track of prior coverage.

What Does Quick Charts 4.0 Mean for Existing Quick Charts Practices?

Major software upgrades naturally raise questions—particularly for practices that have years of patient information and established workflows inside their current system.

Quick Charts 4.0 is specifically being engineered to make that transition more flexible.

Will My Existing Quick Charts Data Have to Be Migrated?

According to the current development roadmap, no.

Quick Charts 4.0 is being engineered to connect directly to the existing practice database, eliminating the need for a traditional migration into an entirely new system.

The stated goal is zero data migration and zero lost notes. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

For established practices, that means modernization does not have to begin by moving years of patient information somewhere else.

Will My Practice Have to Switch Everything at Once?

No.

The planned Quick Charts 4.0 web workstations are being designed to operate alongside the existing desktop environment.

Practices will be able to determine when and how they adopt the new tools rather than being forced into an immediate all-or-nothing transition. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

That approach gives practices an opportunity to introduce new workflows intentionally while continuing to use the environment their staff already knows.

When Will Quick Charts 4.0 Be Available?

Quick Charts 4.0 is still in active development and testing.

A commercial release date has not been announced in the current technology preview.

DB Consultants is sharing the roadmap now so Quick Charts users can see what is being developed and have an opportunity to provide early input as development continues. Quick_Charts_4.0_Marketing_Broc…

Quick Charts Is Evolving—Without Abandoning What Made It Different

Quick Charts 4.0 is more than a new interface.

The development roadmap connects technology across the entire chiropractic practice—from appointment scheduling and patient arrival to bedside documentation, imaging, insurance verification and claim submission.

Touch-first charting is being developed to bring documentation closer to patient care.

Clinical AI tools are being explored to reduce manual measurement and data entry.

Integrated DICOM imaging and 3D spinal documentation are being built to bring more clinical information into the encounter itself.

Smarter scheduling, universal alerts, staff communication and room tracking are being designed to improve coordination between the front desk and clinical team.

And new eligibility, claim-scrubbing and insurance tools are being developed to help the billing department identify problems earlier and work more efficiently.

Yet beneath all of those changes is a principle that remains consistent:

The practice should remain in control of its data.

Quick Charts 4.0 is being engineered to provide the mobility and modern experience practices increasingly expect without requiring existing Quick Charts users to abandon their database, surrender control of their records or immediately replace the desktop environment they already use.

That is the direction of Quick Charts 4.0:

Modern access. Connected workflows. Faster practice operations. Practice-owned data.
